Border Meeting 2013 at Kortenberg Abbey ( from Friday 6th until Sunday 8th September 2013.

Our keynote speaker was Harvey Gillman on The individual and the community, reflections on the mystical path.’  In the struggle between religion, for many a no-no, and spirituality, sometimes dismissed as new age or pious, possibilities of a deeper life are frequently neglected. In our fragmented society the need for community is often spoken about but sorely missed. Harvey will help us to explore this theme in a talk and in optional groups that will follow up various themes. Harvey Gillman is a well-known Quaker speaker and author whose publications include ‘A Light that is Shining’ and ‘A Minority of One’ (Swarthmore Lecture 1988).

On Friday evening, we also welcomed Davorka Lovrekovic, General Secretary of 'Church & Peace'. Church and Peace is a European Ecumenical peace church network made up of communities, training centres, peace organisations and peace service agencies. It participates in the ecumenical dialogue of the conciliar process for Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation and is a catalyst for common initiatives and projects.

We also hope to offer a programme for children.

Included with this invitation, you will find a registration form and a draft programme for the weekend. Please be sure to register as soon as possible, and at the latest by 15th August.
